V. Shanmuganathan (born 21 November 1949) is the current Governor of the Indian states of Meghalaya and Manipur.〔
==Early life and career==
Shanmuganathan was born in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu in 1949. He completed his M.Phil. on political science from University of Madras in 1970. He received the Madras University gold medal from Vice Chancellor T.P. Meenakshi Sundaram. He joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1962. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and was appointed to the defence and research cell in 2003. Later, he became the additional secretary to the BJP Parliament office and overseas affairs. He has also written three books in Tamil and has contributed to over 600 articles in leading newspapers and magazines, both in Tamil and English.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Governor of Meghalaya )
